HOLY TRINITY DIRECTOR OF YOUTH AND
FAMILY MINISTRY
Position description
Full time, with attendance at
occasional off-site events required
Compensation:
- $32,000 – 36,000 depending
upon qualifications and experience
- Mileage for work related
events
- Medical benefits (cost
shared by employee and employer)
- At least two weeks paid
vacation every calendar year
- Continuing
education time (2 weeks/year) and financial support (up to
$500.00/year), e.g., expenses for annual ELCA Extravaganza (national youth
ministry conference) and Gathering in the East (regional youth ministry
conference).
Qualifications:
- Member
of ELCA or served in ELCA congregation
- Bachelor’s
degree or similar experience preferred
- Experience
with church/community youth activities
- Ability
to nurture and coordinate volunteers
- Ability
to serve as role model/spiritual counselor/encourager of youth
- Excellent
organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Help
congregation set priorities and direction of youth and family ministry.
- Identify,
train and support adults and teens to participate in youth and family
ministries.
- Help
pave the way between the parking lot and the sanctuary for Sunday School
parents, in conjunction with Director of Music, Evangelism and
Christian Education teams.
- Coordinate
programming and other ministries for nursery to 12th grade
students, and their families.
- Help
congregation plan and implement intergenerational servant events.
Expectations:
1)
Attend weekly staff meetings and
monthly Christian Education meetings.
2)
Attend Council.
3)
Engage in continuing education and
peer support opportunities.
