St. Paul said, “So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.” (Galatians 6:9-10)
The passage above is a pretty accurate description of the workings of the Holy Trinity family; people working together for the betterment of the whole. This is a big reason why Holy Trinity is flourishing. We are a generous congregation in many ways. We give of our time, we give of our talents, we give of our skills and we give of our money. This year alone we:
- Created the Memorial Garden
- Completed “Adopt-a-Plant” relandscaping
- Helped to sustain the ecumenical food pantry
- Distributed Hurricane Sandy relief and
- Contributed to national and international assistance
This generosity of time and spirit is also found inside the church. Our music program is growing and our Christian Education program is thriving. We are blessed to have your active participation and we thank you.
We now ask for your help to ensure this Spirit-inspired ministry continues. Each autumn, the Finance Committee prepares an estimate of finances for the following year, a budget. These estimates will give us an accurate financial picture with which to prepare the operating budget. This process ensures that Holy Trinity continues to operate as a vibrant organization, providing important faith-based programs in an environment and building that everyone can be proud of.
Please complete the enclosed Estimate of Giving Card indicating your anticipated contribution to the Current and Benevolence Fund for next year.
Then, please place your card in the enclosed envelope and return it by mail or drop it in the collection plate during any service between now and October 19. If you are interested in electronic giving, check the church website for more information.
Please take some time to pray, count your blessings and think about your financial giving. We should remember that we have nothing to give that we haven’t first received from our Lord and that any generosity on our part is a pale image of God’s generosity toward us.
With your help, the Holy Trinity family will continue to proclaim the Gospel, sing God’s praises, teach the children, celebrate the Sacraments and reach out to the needy.
Thank you again for your kindness.
