A Choice Vine of Strong Stock
I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock.
How then did you turn against me into a corrupt, wild vine?
-- Jeremiah 2:21
On January 12, I had the thrill of my life; I delivered my Grandson, Alec. It was such an honor because first of all Jennifer and Kevin had to trust me more than anyone else to care for them and then deliver the baby.
Alec was early and this Midwife sweated profusely as he came into the world. All of my fears were dispelled when he breathed and wiggled in my hands as I put him on mommy's abdomen for their caring hands to hold. Now I'm a Grandmother and I love it thanks to God and all the prayers from my friends and Pastors.
Alec, our Child of God was planted as a choice vine by my son and his wife just as Kevin and Karen were planted and cultivated and fertilized in God's loving Church. My children were raised with God, and although they are not active in a church now, I suspect that their education and knowing God will bring them back as it did when they were married. Now Kevin and Jennifer have the daunting duty of raising Alec to be of strong stock.
God gives us the ability to make decisions about how we will live our lives and that allows us to turn away and become corrupt. The important thing is that we know who loves us and that we can return at any time as did the Prodigal Son. Jesus loves us unconditionally. It is our privilege to love him back.
Dear Jesus, Thank you for all of my blessings and most of all for being my friend and comforter. Please help those I love to love and worship you in their own way to your glory. You have blessed me in so many ways. Thank you and I love you. Amen.
